Event Highlight!
Take Flight Farms is honored to have T.J. Shushereba from Anomaly Vineyards supporting the 2019 Jumpin’ Juleps event! Through his generosity, Jumpin’ Juleps attendees will have the unique opportunity to enjoy a sampling of Cabernet Sauvignon from Anomaly Vineyards which is not readily available in Nebraska. T.J. is attending our event tonight and will be able to answer questions regarding their winery and vineyard in St. Helena, California.
Like many, T.J. has a personal connection to mental health. T.J.’s wife, Dr. Jennifer Gonzales Shushereba was a clinical psychologist with the San Francisco Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. Dr. Gonzales Shushereba was a strong advocate for mental health and dedicated her career to helping those who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health concerns. T.J. admired his wife’s work and explained that she “had an incredible heart.“ She was very passionate about the work she did, the veterans she was trying to help,” he said. “They needed someone to talk to … and she was that person for them.” Tragically, on March 9th, 2018 one of the Veterans suffering from severe PTSD, ended the life of Dr. Gonzales Shushereba (and her unborn child) as well as the lives of two other women staff members at The Pathway Home before killing himself.
In memory of Dr. Jennifer Gonzales Shushereba Psy. D.
Spreading awareness and offering services to Veterans is one of the many services Take Flight Farms offers in our community. Your support at this event not only pays tribute to Dr. Jennifer Gonzales Shushereba Psy. D., but to all practitioners in the mental health field.
Be sure to place your bid to own a bottle of wine from Anomaly Vineyards. This package includes a 1.5 L magnum bottle of 2016 Anomaly Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon AND a private tour & tasting for 4 people at Anomaly Vineyards in St. Helena, CA.
